Coals, ash, bones and our own packaging leave with us.

What costs extra

  • Crockery, cutlery and glassware — hire locally, roughly R18 to R30 a head in Cape Town depending on the hire company.
  • Tables, linen and marquees — not ours, and cheaper booked directly.
  • Waiters for table service — we serve at the buffet only.
  • Extra salads or a second dessert — R15 to R25 a head, quoted with the menu.
  • Travel beyond the metro — a flat fee by distance, shown on the quote.

Questions about the prices

Are these spit braai prices the final figure?

Inside greater Cape Town, yes: the per-head rate times your guest count. Outside the metro a travel fee is added and it is stated on the quote before you agree to it.

Is there a halaal surcharge?

No. Some Cape Town caterers add about R20 a head for halaal. Halaal is the only way we cook, so there is nothing to surcharge.

What happens if fewer guests arrive?

You are quoted and charged on the number you confirm, with a floor of 25. The butcher's order and the lamb are bought against that figure a few days ahead.

Do you price per function instead of per head?

No. Per-head pricing is the point — you can multiply it yourself and check the quote. Package pricing by guest band is how a R7,000 function becomes R9,000.
